| The changing face of
Bestwood Junction |
| |
 |
| |
| On the 2nd March 1985 the original
trackwork is still in place as the Hucknall No. 2 |
| and Linby collieries and Calverton
Colliery were in production. |
| |
 |
| |
| On the 6th May 1989 the Hucknall
collieries have closed as evidenced by the rusty rail |
| and the trackwork has been
rationalised. The "Jolly Collier" diesel special is on its |
| way to Calverton Colliery, still in
production. |
| |
 |
| |
| On the 8th May 1993, Robin Hood Line Fun
Day, eleven days before the passenger |
| services started, the driver gives up the
train staff for the single line section to Hucknall. |
| As can be seen by the rusty rail the
Calverton Colliery branch is now out of use. |

| In preparation for laying the track for
the Nottingham Express Tramway further trackwork |
| has taken place. The line has been
singled between ?? and ?? to provide space for the Tram |
| and a passing loop has been installed.
The feather on the right hand side signal is for the |
| Calverton branch the connection being
retained in anticipation of a freight terminal. |
| The signal box has gone this part of the
line now being controlled from Trent Power Box. |
| |
 |
| |
| In 2008 there are three tracks, the long
passing loop on the Robin Hood Line and |
| the single tram (NET) track. In the
left distance is the NET Moor Bridge station. |
| On the 3rd December 2008 class 153 321
waits for a Nottingham bound service. |
