On the 31st August 2006 diesel number 199-861-6 propels the empty stock for a morning

train to the Brocken.  The diesel is radio controlled by the driver from the veranda of the
 front coach.  The Harzer Schmalspurbahn have six of these diesel hydraulic C-C diesels
built by LEW Halberstadt on the books. They are standard gauge locos on metre gauge
bogies and are used for stock movements, shunting and freight.
